Medical need:
40% of people faint at least one time during their life due to unexplained syncope. In the majority of these cases, the origin of such syncopes is harmless and further investigation is not required. In the case of more frequent episodes, which may even lead to injuries, and in patients with cardiological or neurological diseases, a profound assessment of syncope is indicated. State of the art syncope assessment is performed with the help of a "Tilt Table" and requires continuous monitoring of heart rate and blood pressure.
International Guidelines from the ESC recommend the monitoring of continuous, non-invasive blood pressure and 3 lead ECG, and require reports including ECG-paper.
Solution:
The devices developed by CNSystems enable continuous blood pressure measurement without any interruptions, even in syncopal situations caused by profound hypotension.
The Task Force® Monitor is the "state-of-the-art" solution which provides all relevant hemodynamic parameters completely synchronized.
Full hemodynamic assessment:
- high resolution 6-channel-ECG
- continuous non-invasive arterial blood pressure
- continuous non-invasive cardiac output and stroke volume
- total peripheral resistance
Autoregulation of blood pressure:
- assessment of autonomic function using heart rate variability, blood pressure variability and baroreceptor sensitivity
Customized syncope software and report generation:
- diagnostic tools, i.e. callipers to measure drop in heart rate and blood pressure
- advanced print reports including ECG paper
- data export: ASCII Text, MS-Excel®, Matlab®
The CNAP® Monitor 500 targets hospitals and doctors with a limited budget as an attractive alternative to the Task Force® Monitor:
- continuous non-invasive arterial blood pressure
- calibrated blood pressure using integrated NiBP
- guideline conforming assessment of syncope in combination with an external ECG device
- integrated thermal printer for basic documentation
Benefit:
The continuous non-invasive monitoring of blood pressure is the essential parameter to diagnose patients with syncope. In combination with the non-invasive monitoring of cardiac output, physicians gain high quality physiological information at no risk for the patient.
A customized syncope software with the Task Force® Monitor ensures the ease of use for clinicians when studying patients with syncope, featuring diagnostic tools and advanced print reports for each case.
